This is not the emotionally devastating crescendo that Endwalker delivered, and some players will inevitably be disappointed by that shift. But evaluated on its own terms, Dawntrail is a magnificent expansion that showcases the best dungeon and raid design in FFXIV's history while transporting players to a sun-drenched new continent that feels genuinely unlike anything the game has offered before.

Performance on PC and PS5 is generally excellent, though the Xbox Series X version launched with some stability issues that have since been largely addressed through patches.
